REAL TAHIN HELVA, ELEGANTLY PRESENTED

A melt-in-the-mouth sesame-based sweet treat, Tahin Helva is a unique confection that surprises the taste buds at each bite!

The name ‘helva’ in Turkish, or ‘halva’ as it’s called in many Middle Eastern countries, derives from the Arabic word halwa meaning a sweet confection. Today, sesame helva exists in nearly every Middle Eastern and Eastern Mediterranean culture that claims it. However, it is believed that helva was first introduced in the 12th Century Istanbul. One of the most well known enthusiasts of tahin helva was the Ottoman sultan Suleiman the Magnificent who famously had a special kitchen built next to his palace that was dedicated to making helva, called helvahane (house of helva), where over 30 different types of helva was produced. It was during this time that sesame-based helva became famous and started to spread across the world.

TWO FLAVOURS, DELICIOUS TASTE

Together with our artisan producers we’ve crafted two flavours: Pistachio and Turkish coffee, whereby our Pistachio Helva contains minimum 11% Antep Pistachios, known for their superior quality and flavour, and our Turkish coffee helva is made with our own Ozerlat Turkish coffee expertly roasted in Cyprus, and thus is unique to us!

HIGHEST QUALITY INGREDIENTS

Real Tahin helva is made from three main ingredients: high quality sesame (toasted and ground into a thick tahini), sugar and soapwort extract (derived from the Saponaria plant) which helps to combine the tahini and sugar giving the sweet it’s texture. Most common flavourings added to helva are pistachios and vanilla, whereas more recent varieties include chocolate, walnuts and hazelnuts.

Ozerlat Real Tahin Helva is made from 55% Turkish sesame which is superior for taste and quality, with real sugar (no glucose syrup), and only natural ingredients that are 100% plant-based.
